Life Cycle: Your Flowers usually last from one to two weeks.
Flowers: They have large, terminal flowers with two or more fragrant flowers per stem and varied colors. They usually bloom in winter and spring.
Lighting: Requires fresh environment with good lighting. Avoid the sun in the hottest hours of the day. When cultivated in beds, prefer places in half shade.
Watering: In the pot: You should water until the water comes out of the pot holes, avoiding leaving water accumulated in the dish. Always keep the soil moist. In hot climates, water with little water, but often. If necessary, every day. In flower beds: Try to keep the flower bed always moist, watering early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Substrate: The substrate is composed of ingredients that provide all the necessary nutrients for the plant. The substrate must be fertile and airy, rich in organic matter. Peat, earthworm humus and topsoil or a mixture of topsoil, fertilizer and tree fern powder can be used.
Fertilization: Use NPK, rich in P (phosphorus) or bone meal and castor cake, once or twice a year, always following the fertilizer manufacturer’s recommendation.
Pruning: In flower beds: After the flower falls, wait until the leaves start to dry, then prune very low, removing almost all the foliage. Don’t worry, the lily’s foliage grows very fast, after about 15 days it will be showy. In the Vase: After the flower has fallen, wait for the stem to dry and then remove the bulb.
Propagation or Replanting Method: Reproduces easily by dividing bulbs, which can be planted at any time of the year. After the death of the flowers, you should continue watering the foliage for about 3 months, then stop adding water and wait for the stems to dry completely. Only then will you remove the bulbs from the pot, clean them from excess soil, let them air dry in the shade and store them in a perforated plastic bag. Place the plastic bag in the least cold part of the refrigerator (local fruits and vegetables) and leave them for 4 months. After this dormant period, plant them on a new substrate in pots or on the floor. In 3 or 4 months it will flower again.
