Popular Name: Amaryllis II

Has Toxic Bulb: If ingested it can cause vomiting and malaise.

Size: It presents flowers 10 to 13 cm long, on stems 25 to 30 cm high.

Life Cycle: With a cool climate, the flower lasts an average of 1 to 2 weeks. And the plant lasts a few years.

Flowers: Terminal inflorescences with few flowers, tall erect, usually white, pink or orange.

Lighting: It should be in a well-lit place, close to a window, balcony, etc. Amaryllis withstands direct sunlight. Give preference to the morning sun, as the afternoon light can speed up the flower opening process.

Watering: Water on average every 2 days without leaving soaked.

Substrate: A mixture of 1/3 (one third) of organic material, 1/3 (one third) coconut fiber and 1/3 (one third) red earth is recommended.

Fertilization: Use NPK fertilizer 15-10-10, fertilize according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Pruning: After the flowers and leaves wither, they must be cut, planting the bulb in a pot or in the garden with fertile soil. If planted in a pot, use a substrate that allows good drainage, avoiding clay soil, as excess moisture can rot the roots.

Propagation or Replanting Method: After flowering, remove the stems and plant it in fertile soil, letting the bulb’s neck appear out of the soil, water well and then always keep moist.
